1. Fear is a story you tell yourself (12:46)
Garin names the fears that once drove his decisions: fear of loss, fear of failure, fear of letting people down, fear of ruining relationships, fear that people would not respect him. His point is that fear lives in the stories we tell ourselves, and that things changed for him when he stopped running from it and decided it would no longer run his life.
2. Action gives you information (44:14)
Yesi's last question is what it costs a person who never outwits the devil. Garin's answer starts with movement: even action that is out of alignment sends you into a wall, and the wall gives you information you can use to redirect.
3. The devil wants you unsure (45:06)
He finishes the answer with inaction. A person who does nothing is easy to control: easy to box in and push around. Taking action while you are still unsure, and using the feedback from it, does more to beat that than waiting until you are sure.
